The UFO sighting over Bromley on April 27, 2013 in London has been all over the news headlines the last few days, but this wasn't the first UFO encounter for Bromley.

In case you have been away from the news headlines the past week or so I will get you up to date on the most recent Bromley UFO sighting. A woman from the London suburb sent a photo of a UFO into the local newspaper the News Shopper. She said that around 2:30 am on April 27 she was awoken by a loud noise, "it didn't sound like a plane, it didn't sound like a helicopter" she exclaimed.

When she went to her window to see what it was she says " in the distance I could see a big aircraft with all these lights."

She goes on to say:

"I couldn't make out the shape of whatever it was but I could see it was quite large because the lights were so far apart. I tried to get my husband up but he didn't take any notice. My daughter got up and she said she saw this big circular thing with all these lights. I don't know whether there is another type of aircraft we don't know about, but it just didn't look like anything I have ever seen before."

As I was doing some research on the Bromley UFO sighting I came across a few articles describing a UFO encounter in Bexleyheath which is part or Bromley in East London that occured on July 17, 1955.

The first article untitled "The 1955 Bexleyheath UFO Encounter" from ufocasebook.com dated September of 2002 describes the UFO sighting as follows:

Mr Maynard who was 15 years old at the time was working at a laborer on a building site when on his lunch break he heard something was happening on King Harold's Way so he went up to have a look. He then describes the UFO

"This thing had landed in the roadway, it took up the whole width of the road and overlapped onto the pavements."

"It wasn't on the ground it had about eight massive suckers. the center was still, but the out rim rim was spinning slowly and it had white lights flashing like a camera flash."

"There were about 30 of us staring at it. We could hear it humming."

"It had what looked like windows but the glass was concave and molded together so you couldn't see in. a couple of us went forward to try and touch it but it began to spin faster."

"Then it lifted slowly off the ground and hovered above our heads, tilting slightly."

The craft moved slowly until it was over Bedonwell Primary School, where it stayed for about a minute, then shot up into the sky and disappeared.

Mr Maynard, whose 16-year-old brother also saw the craft said: "It was black, sleek and streamlined with a surface like polished metal. It was very fine and beautiful. It certainly wasn't a prank."

The second article was also from ufocasebook.com and titled "Flying Saucers Famous 1955 Landing at Bexley"

This article describe the UFO sighting through another witnesses perspective and says there was about 30 other witnesses of the UFO encounter. I am not going to go into detail of this article because it is pretty much the same with a few differences. I will Post links to each article below.
