They were farther away in the distance in tree lines of Evergreen trees, but I could estimate that they were large by the fact that they were dwarfing the trees. Additionally, within another minute, two more spheres flew by in a straight line. At this time, firework displays began all over and the night sky darkened. I did not see any more after that. Scared me and my kids out of our minds. They were huge black spheres (about 5-10 feet in diameter or bigger from where I was standing) that were completely silent. They were way too big to be balloons. They went in a straight direction without anything propelling them. What has the ability to do that? What could they possibly be?

Granted, those with training can analyze those statements and those observations later and provide information about what was seen. The interpretation of the observations is what becomes the question and not the observations themselves (well not entirely).

Again, to me, this says that the testimony was a form of evidence... and in both the law and science, that testimony is then interpreted by those who have some sort of specialized training, expertise, or technical knowledge.

But this is an argument over semantics and I think we all agree that testimony is often badly flawed, open to the interpretations of those giving it, especially after mere weeks have passed, and could be the result of ambiguous stimuli that is filtered through the witness' own belief structure.

But that wasn't the only evidence offered at the Hearing. There was documentation. We've already talked about the government documents from the Department of Defense that confirms that a Peruvian pilot fired at a UFO. This doesn't prove that he shot at an alien spacecraft, only that the event took place.

The discussion one afternoon degenerated into questions about the end of Project Blue Book. Nearly everyone was unclear as to the reason for the demise of that study, though they did mention the role that the Condon Committee had in it. That might create enough pressure for humans to finally build a framework for responding to extraterrestrial intelligence diplomacy needs. Are you collaborating with aliens to gain some form of advantage? It could set countries against one another and that could lead to serious conflicts.

In a fast scenario the extraterrestrials could send representatives to our solar system. Perhaps they would still want to signal an introduction first. This would allow a brief time of consideration by humans, before the dramatic event of physical First Contact. The fast approach has the benefit of capturing the complete and total attention of the planet at once, in a way that would have far more impact than the slow method. One would imagine that aliens considering such a thing would do so for a reason. It could be that they want to see us join together as a civilization. Perhaps they are concerned about our environmental problems.

The primary downside to the fast method is threat. Any physical extraterrestrial presence in our solar system will be perceived with some degree of threat, not matter how friendly or welcoming the extraterrestrials may be. Fear and negative reactions could be the by-product of perceived threat, and if the situation is not carefully managed it could lead to chaotic situations here on Earth.

On the positive side, a dramatic and fast First Contact event could bypass all of the entanglements of the scientific process and government intervention. It could be conducted in a way that was designed to reach all of the people of Earth in an equal fashion. It could be done with great transparency and openness. This could mean less conflict between nations and an actual joining together of nations in response. From this writer's perspective, this approach would have great advantages in the long-term human response to First Contact.

Of course, it all goes back to motivation. We can speculate all we want about extraterrestrial motivation. We won't know until First Contact occurs, if it ever occurs at all. I think there is one thing that we can agree on: any extraterrestrials making the effort to say hello will have a motivation of some sort. Object 4 of 5 flew off in the same direction,then the 5th object flew away in the same manner and flight path as they all did. Once the first three were slightly above the treeline the bright red objects changed their direction of travel to moving towards the east horizontally staying slightly above the treeline.As the first of these three objects starts to fly upward(after taveling 1 mile horizontally above the treeline)ascending in the same southeastern direction as the first five, a fourth object rose up from the same spot as the last three.(This object appeared bigger and brighter than the prievious 8 objects but was the same shape and color as the rest.)This last object continued in a vertical ascent,but appeared to be heading right towards us. It got about halfway(1/8mile) to us from where it rose up from the treeline then it hovered until the second,then third object flew away.Once the last of the three red objects was no longer in sight this hovering last one headed up in the same southeast direction as all of the rest of them.
