Whether it's in Area 51 itself or a different military installation such as the nebulous Dulce base, it's almost a certainty that the U.S. government is engaged in some high-level covert technological experiments. Therefore, when we say Area 51, we mean "wherever the hell they're doing whatever the hell they're doing".
So, what are they doing? Well, here are the Ghost Diaries' best guesses:
ALIEN EXPERIMENTATION
Conspiracy theorists have long speculated that Area 51 is ground zero for the reverse engineering of alien spacecrafts and biotechnological experiments on alien bodies. Also rumored: breeding experiments that could play into a genetic super-species, mixed bloodlines and/or shapeshifting beings.
TELEPORTATION
Scientists have already succeeded in quantum teleportation: teleporting information, particles of energy, from one location to another. Area 51 could be the lab where scientists are working on macro-level teleportation, likely with the assistance of advanced artificial intelligence and picotechnology.
TIME TRAVEL
Some believe time travel is real and has already been widely utilized. And some UFOlogists believe UFOs are the evidence. Could an advanced future civilization be returning to previous times to re-engineer the future present?
Or maybe just fuel one of the greatest consumer vacation agencies in the world? "This summer, take the wife and kids on a vacation to the past!"
THE AURORA PROJECT
High tech propulsion systems have been proposed for a while as an explanation for gaps in military budgets and ear-shattering sonic booms. Could liquid methane be the fuel behind government-created UFO spy planes?
GEOENGINEERING, OR WEATHER CONTROL
There's no doubt a gaggle of conservatives who wouldn't scoff at the sinister idea of Hurricane Sandy being manufactured to help turn the 2012 presidential election. Other theorists postulate that weather control could be used to assist the New World Order in the de population of the world. Still others, such as the controversial Alex Jones, claim the geo-engineered climate change phenomenon is being leveraged in order to introduce a global carbon tax, although this strikes GD as simply disinformation spread by fossil fuel corporate interests.
PROJECT BLUEBEAM
If you thought seeing the Tupac hologram at Coachella was something, wait until you get a load of this. Project Bluebeam is the speculative lovechild of HAARP holographic psi ops and LRAD induced auditory projections that may be used to manufacture a global religious event or a false flag alien invasion. The 2012 end to the Mayan calendar may be the perfect time for such a deception. Either a faux religious awakening or a hoax alien encounter could be used as a catalyst for further consolidation of national governments into a one world government, the NWO.
Have all these UFOs just been the government screwing with our heads?
Proponents of this theory say the government has been using Hollywood for decades to psychologically prepare us to accept the reality of an alien invasion and willingly forgo our civil rights. Experimental programs like MKULTRA and Project Montuak revealed how far mind control could actually be taken.
As evidence of the conspiracy, many point to Henry Kissinger's 1991 speech to the United Nations, in which he said:
"Today America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing that man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the world government."
