So the testimony is:
UFO seen at close range, multiple witnesses, contemporaneous AF documentation released under FOIA10 missiles go off line at the same time
1 week later, UFO seen at close range, multiple witnesses - glowing, silent, hovers, moves at high speed
Radios temporarily inoperable
10 missiles go offline at the same time
UFO found by search aircraft in a canyon soon after
3 or 4 require being brought up again about 4 or 5 hours later
canyon UFO flies off at dawn before climbers can be sent down.

2nd incident has multiple officer witnesses with highest security clearances testifying today, most of whom have been giving the same story out for 14-18 years with no substantial variations, no other claims of sightings or other potential evidence of untrustworthiness, short, matter-of-fact accounts with no storytelling flourishes, who have very little expectation of substantial gain from their testimony and a certainty of attracting ridicule.

1990s- 2000s US psy-op, witnesses are colluding
Soviet or other foreign psy-op
real incident, natural cause, e.g. unknown plasma phenomenon
real incident, "interdimensional" cause (several possible variants, ranging from Coyote, Sidhe and the collective unconscious to residents of other literal spatial dimensions to a buffer overflow attack on our simulation from another area of the matrix)
real incident, "cryptoterrestrial" cause
real incident, "extraterrestrial" cause (may have long term presence, Earth or other Solar System base)
