The Mystery Of The Giant Ufo Aliens Of Voronezh

The world of UFOs, and indeed other mysteries, does seem to get very muddled by misinformation, exaggerations and denials. So much so that it becomes hard to know where the truth really lies.

One such example of this is with the Mystery of the Giant Aliens of Voronezh.

This story blew up in September 1989 and the first most people heard of the event was following a Tass News Agency report.

Tass are hardly known for their jokes so their report hit the headlines worldwide. They reported that scientists had confirmed the landing of an alien spaceship carrying giant people with tiny heads.

They wrote, "Scientists have confirmed that an unidentified flying object recently landed in a park in the Russian city of Voronezh. They have also identified the landing site and found traces of aliens who made a short promenade about the park."

Witnesses claimed, "The aliens were three or even four meters (9 to 12 feet) tall, but with very small heads."

Genrikh Silanov, head of the Voronezh Geophysical Laboratory, later reported:

"In the period between September 21 and October 28, 1989, in Western Park in Voronezh, six landings and one sighting were registered with the appearances of walking beings. We have collected a wealth of video materials with eyewitness accounts, particularly from pupils of the nearest school. We have no doubts that they are telling the truth."

Silanov also told Tass of how scientists had found a 20 yard depression with four deep dents, as well as two pieces of unidentified rocks.

Regarding the rocks Tass quoted Silanov as saying, "At first glance, they looked like sandstone of a deep-red color. However, mineralogical analysis has shown that the substance cannot be found on Earth"

All pretty convincing stuff one would think. But then denials of certain aspects of the story began to appear, perhaps to try and hush up the real truth. Some of the witnesses suddenly became 'unreliable'. It all turned into another Roswell or Rendlesham incident where the real truth is debatable, with claims and counter-claims.

Let's, however, go back to one of the witness statements. Vasya Surin said he saw a pink haze hover over a nearby building and he stopped to watch this with some friends. From this haze came a red, glowing sphere which circled the park and then hovered over a tree.

Vasya then describes what happened next: "A door opened in the sphere. A person looked out. He was tall, about 3m (10 feet), shone silvery, and his arms were down to his knees. His head was just a continuation of his shoulders, with three eyes: two at the sides and a third a little higher up."

The alien then supposedly climbed down and walked around. At one point he flashed a gun / pistol like implement at a man walking towards a bus stop, which made the man disappear. The man reappeared when the UFO finally left.

Witness statements become clouded. A local militia man, Lieutenant Sergie Matveyev, says he saw an object over the park, some 165m (50 feet) wide. He insists, however, that the UFO did not land - and he didn't see any aliens.

Everything gets more muddled by what Denis Murzenko says he saw. His version was a pink egg shaped object descending. He then witnessed a humanoid figure. This is his description: "The person seemed to be about 1.4m (4.5 feet) height."

This conflicts greatly with the 10 feet tall humanoids seen by other witnesses - and is more in line with other reported worldwide UFO aliens.

It's now impossible to make a proper analysis of what really happened at Voronezh. Did younger witnesses exaggerate what they saw? Did Denis Murzenko 'see' what he had previously read others had seen in UFO sightings?

As for the rocks that Genrikh Silanov supposedly said were of a substance which cannot be found on earth. He later denied this, saying that the rocks were simple iron ore. Silanov has also been outed as not being a scientist.

Something definitely happened, or was seen, in Voronezh but what it actually was remains a mystery.

Ufo Sighting In Lakeland

It was 7:52 p.m. in the city of Lakeland, Florida when the incident occurred. When the incident occurred I was outside of my apartment star gazing with my binoculars. The nighttime sky was clear of stars so I planned to come inside shortly. I then noticed as I was gazing over my apartment building out of the corner of the lens I saw a bright light. I instinctively turned the binoculars toward the light thinking it was a helicopter. I then saw a hovering oval shaped craft with a series of circular lights around the oval. I thought to myself "It's only a helicopter." I stood there and had a sense of fear instilled in me remembering earlier experiences I had had with the E.T. Had they come back to get me? I watched as the craft stood still not moving an inch just hovering in the night time sky. The craft omitted orange/red lights. I then quickly ran inside in fear of my life.

BLACK TRIANGLE SIGHTING IN HILLSBORO, TEXAS ON MAY 15TH 1995 - LARGE, DARK, TRIANGULAR SHAPED CRAFT FLYING LOW OVER HILLSBORO TEXAS 1995I never reported this incident for many reasons. In the 90's UFO's were more of a conspiracy story to most people, you were considered a kook to believe in them, which I did anyway. The only people I ever told did not believe me, including my family, so I kept it to myself. The last reason was that I could not believe I saw what I had seen and not one other person ever mentioned it. Because of this, time is a little blurred. It was spring/summer in 95 or 96(I can dig in some records to find the exact year). I lived on Nowlin street in Hillsboro Texas. Me and a couple of my room-mates had stayed up late playing video games. I was the last one standing and still enjoying my games, but really needed to take a leak. I am a guy, and lazy, so just walked out my front door to pee off the porch. Was a nice temperature being around 2ish in the morning, the night was clear as a bell as Texas nights and days tend to be. No wind. The town of Hillsboro has a population of about 12k at the time so it is pretty much asleep as a town, but there is people about at that time of night and interstate 35 is not a mile away. The lights of the city streets around the main street and the all night convenient stores is all the light there is, but I am one block away from that well lit main street. The night is quiet. As I was doing my business I happen to look up. Maybe it got a tad bit brighter, maybe I just flat noticed something above me, I don't know why. Directly above me is a ship hull, complete with the hull plating and seam-work. The lights from the street were reflecting off the surface and was the only reason I saw it. It was not extra reflective by nature and in fact was a drab dull metal color (I am red-green color-blind). It appeared to be just 20 or 50 above the roof of the house I lived in, which had a steep roof that made it approximately equivalent to a two story place. I could be off by up to a couple dozen feet. Its surface reminded me of any number of navy ships hulls. To this day I do not know why I did not call out to my friends, not 20 feet away from me in the house and asleep, right then and there. I just took a step or two out into my yard and stared up at this huge ship flying over head. Something so amazing that it HAS to be shared and I just watch it fly away. It made absolutely no sound, not a single light of its own was showing moving slowly to the north. It grows in width as it goes overhead and when the what I assume was the back end came into view I knew it was triangular shaped and where the lights of the street no longer reflected was the blackness of its hull as it blocked out starlight for a while. It just kept going north. No other change in direction, action, or mode. I told my friends and wife at the time. Never heard mention of it or any rumors of something weird. As far as I know, I am the only person that saw it. I could have called them out there and I didn't. I never could explain to myself why I did not chase after it in the car, wake my friends, run down the street after it to see where it went, anything.
