Hello. I have been a fan of your kind of info my whole life, and have been reading Phantoms and Monsters for at least a couple years now. But I had never had my own up close and personal experience. I have had many sightings of distant lights and things that "could" have been UFOs, but not definitively. That is, until a few weeks ago...I finally had my own, up close and personal UFO encounter, and right next to my house of all places, in the middle of the day!

So it was at noon on a weekday and everyone was at work, except me. I was doing my usual walk through the forest below my house, next to a cove of Lake Lanier in North Georgia. As I was walking back up the hill toward my house, a strange glint caught the corner of my eye. At first I kept walking, but the curious urge finally got the better of me and i decided to turn around and look.
"That couldn't have been what I thought I saw..."
Sure enough, directly above the cove of the lake, were four glistening UFOs in a diagonal line. In fact, this diagonal line detail was the strangest and most consistent of all its details. There were four of them, seemed like scout ships, and the color was some sort of shiny metallic sheen, perhaps dark gray or black, but the way the sun hit it would cause the illusion of a blinking light. It was as if they could control the way the sun hit them and the way i perceived the sun hitting them as a blinking sort of "code".
They were each perhaps the size of a large dog ( I cant think of any other reference ) and seemed to be actually "connected" where they met diagonally, like they were really one body and not four. Their shapes were the typical UFO saucer-like shape, except the ends weren't rounded but almost pointy.
I looked around and there was nobody home. I was alone to witness this. I sat down on the hill and watched. The whole thing lasted about fifteen minutes. I sensed they were on some sort of scientific observation mission, but of course this is speculation. Every now and then they seemed to converge and form one larger craft, but I couldn't tell if this perhaps was the illusion of the four of them rotating their position in some strange way.
The more I observed, the more aquatic-like they seemed. They didn't appear physical, or solid, but almost aqueous, like jellyfish, slightly wavering. I think they became aware of my presence because after a few minutes they darted behind some nearby trees. (We are in a thick forest area). I was about to go home, but decided to wait a few minutes, and sure enough they slowly pop out again, this time moving further back away from me onto the opposite side of the cove.
Now they begin their "roaming mission" from the looks of it. They would zoom low over the cow fields and hover there for a few moments, always in a diagonal line, but still free to rotate in any direction, but always bound diagonally.
Then they would fly back up quickly to treetop level, hang out there a bit, then kind of leisurely check out another area. They were constantly changing angle, direction, speed, rotation, etc...
After fifteen minutes, they began rising slowly into the sky. They kept rising and rising, the sun hitting them and making them blink. But whereas before, the blinking had been like a code, now it took on the form of a repetitive on and off blink, which repeated until it was just a tiny speck in the distant horizon.

After leading with the Kenneth Arnold story and showing how teletype machines across the country raged about Arnold and a succession of new saucer reports, the movie delves briefly into public reactions, both sober and comedic. However, the initial script calls for the camera to linger upon specific witnesses and events. For instance, though we see about one second of a man in a hard hat, apparently a saucer witness, his role would have been expanded per Martin's intentions. The scene called for an upward camera shot of a power pole carrying high-voltage wires, showing a HIGH VOLTAGE sign on a cross-arm. Two linemen, suspended by safety belts and anchored via climbing spurs on their work shoes, wear heavy rubber gloves as they work on a wire adjacent to an insulator. "One of them pushes his hat up and wipes perspiration from his brow -- starts to pull his hat down again -- when his attention is suddenly frozen by something up and out of scene," the script states.
As this prolonged scene continues, the lineman follows the audience-unseen object with his eyes, then alerts his fellow worker who sees the object. "They exchange a brief, apprehensive glance, then look off again. Their heads move in unison as they watch the object, which is OUT OF SCENE."
Then attention is diverted to a ship at sea, where the first mate scans the sky with binoculars and is startled to encounter "an object sweeping in, up and over the ship." An accompanying signal man on the deck sees the odd binocular movements, looks up and "suddenly stiffens, and his eyes move in unison with the arc of the binoculars."
Arguably, producer Clarence Greene might have been better off leaving such scenes in, rather than whittling the early aura of mystery aspect down to quick shots of folks looking up in the sky. Indeed, writer Martin wasn't finished after the ship at sea event. He next paints the chaos on two busy city streets somewhere in America. As "pedestrians scramble for something," two cars crash into one another, the drivers jump out and, ignoring the damage to their vehicles, "start scrambling." Some members of the city crowd stare skyward, shielding their eyes from the sun as they watch something strange. Simultaneously, a man in the crowd is holding an "aluminum-like" paper saucer with the words, "EAT AT JOE'S -- THIRD AND PINE STREET."
The movie glossed over the majority of bedlam intended for these early scenes.
While traffic is blocked in one area of a city, two teenage boys hiding on a rooftop mischievously insert pinwheel fireworks into a half dozen old chrome auto hub caps, then light and hurl a spinning hub cap toward the street below. This unrealized scripted segment then concludes with two young men staging a fake UFO photo using garbage can lids on invisible threads and a Leica camera. At this point, the intended narration would have been: "The situation at this time was in a sort of half world -- an "Alice in Wonderland" aura overlaid hundreds of reports." Huh? Wow.
The script, like the movie, then slips into the Mantell incident, focusing too long on the case of a pilot who died while chasing a UFO-balloon-UFO-balloon-etc., etc., and the debate rages on even today about the object's true identity, though the movie, unaware at the time that other possibilities would come to light in future years, postulated that a true UFO was responsible. One interesting variation between the script and movie is that the script used several last names for the military personnel involved, but the final cut refers to most by only their positions or rank. Maybe Greene found the names unnecessary or too confusing to add to the eventful Mantell mix. At any rate, while filmed dialogue varies frequently from the script, the content remains essentially the same -- that is, until the wreckage of Mantell's plane is found. (To be continued...)

"Hi Chris,I am sending you this photo that I took on my iPod recently. The story is that my partner and I along with 2 girlfriends went for a drive and a picnic in a lovely part of the world called the promised land in Gleniffer New Australia.
On the way I noticed an airplane laying chem- trails and was quite upset as it had been happening frequently here on lovely sunny clear sky days. I started filming and taking photos.
It was not until I returned home and looked at my photos that I saw this large object in my photo plus other smaller objects In the photo.
I got the impression that I was not the only one annoyed at the Chemtrails!

Ronald Breslow suggests that life-forms based on slightly different amino acids and sugars could take the form of huge, ferocious dinosaurs that have evolved to have human-like intelligence and technologies.
'We would be better off not meeting them,' says Breslow, who claims that it was a stroke of luck that an asteroid wiped out dinosaurs on earth, leaving the field clear for mammals such as humans.

In the report, noted scientist Ronald Breslow, Ph.D., discusses the century-old mystery of why the building blocks of terrestrial amino acids (which make up proteins), sugars, and the genetic materials DNA and RNA exist mainly in one orientation or shape.
There are two possible orientations, left and right, which mirror each other in the same way as hands.
In order for life to arise, proteins, for instance, must contain only one chiral form of amino acids, left or right.

With the exception of a few bacteria, amino acids in all life on Earth have the left-handed orientation.

Breslow describes evidence supporting the idea that the unusual amino acids carried to a lifeless Earth by meteorites about 4 billion years ago set the pattern for normal amino acids with the L-geometry, the kind in terrestial proteins, and how those could lead to D-sugars of the kind in DNA.

Amateur stargazers have discovered an intriguing object jutting out from the surface of Mars. The seemingly perfectly rectangular, upright structure, found in NASA images of the Red Planet, bears a striking resemblance to the monoliths planted on Earth and the moon by aliens in the classic sci-fi film "2001: A Space Odyssey."The object in question was first spotted several years ago after being photographed by the HiRISE camera onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, a NASA space probe; every so often, it garners renewed interest on the Internet. But is it unnatural - a beacon erected by aliens for mysterious reasons, and even more mysteriously paralleled in the imaginations of Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke, creators of "2001"? Or is this rock the work of nature? [Photo ]According to Jonathon Hill, a research technician and mission planner at the Mars Space Flight Facility at Arizona State University, who processes many of the images taken during NASA's Mars missions, the object in question is no more than a roughly rectangular boulder. The HiRISE camera that photographed it has a resolution of approximately 1 foot (30 centimeters) per pixel - impressive considering the 180-mile (300-kilometer) altitude from which it photographs the Martian surface, but not quite sharp enough to capture the cragginess of a mid-size boulder. "When your resolution is too low to fully resolve an object, it tends to look rectangular because the pixels in the image are squares. Any curve will look like a series of straight lines if you reduce your resolution enough," Hill told Life's Little Mysteries.The location of the boulder at the bottom of a cliff near many other boulders suggests it broke off the cliff and tumbled to its current spot sometime in the distant past, Hill said. Such a perilous location is itself an argument against deliberate placement by aliens: "If I was going to build a monolith somewhere, that's the last place I would put it!" he said. "The debris falling from the cliff would cover it up pretty quickly, on geologic timescales."
